Both are insanely prolific and have definitely expanded my appreciation of the soluble medium&#8230; They are also incredibly humbling. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/tgarretteaton.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/2015-7-03-Lake-Kalamalka_v01.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/tgarretteaton.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/2015-7-03-Lake-Kalamalka_v01.jpg\" alt=\"2015-7-03-Lake Kalamalka_v01\" width=\"600\" height=\"361\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-252\" srcset=\"http:\/\/tgarretteaton.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/2015-7-03-Lake-Kalamalka_v01.jpg 600w, http:\/\/tgarretteaton.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/2015-7-03-Lake-Kalamalka_v01-300x180.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I painted this particular scene earlier this month in the Okanagan Valley in B.C. I find my savior is using plenty of white gouache to augment the watercolor- it&#8217;s more like opaque painting that way.
